The young start-up founded by Dr. Kesim, Dr. Wang, Dr. Millon and Marc Leineweber is building a brand-new generation of laser emitting in a unprecedent wavelength of 2.1 µm. It emerges from the chair of Photonics and Ultrafast Laser Science hold by Prof. Saraceno. In the chair, they work on the developing the new generation of THz sources for spectroscopy of solvation. Laser emitting in the 2 µm range are appealing driving sources as the wavelength scales up with THz energy. On the top of spectroscopy purposes, this laser has interesting properties for silicon processing allowing the project to reach out not only scientific applications but also the industry of semiconductors.
The start-up has applied for EXIST funding and is part of the Worldfactory. With the team winning the first place during the pitch battle at the WSC Demo Dayorganized by WSC – RUB, a promising journey is starting.
