Top-level research ‘made in NRW’ presented in the parliament of NRW

RESOLV gave an insight into our high-profile research at the State Parliament in Düsseldorf. Together with 13 other clusters of excellence, RESOLV's spokesperson presented our work in the parliament’s civic hall to politicians and guests.

RESOLV's spokesperson, Martina Havenith, presented the Cluster of Excellence RESOLV at the State Parliament in Düsseldorf. Representatives of the 14 clusters of excellences in NRW came together to present the top level sciece in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the parliament’s civic hall, Havenith showcased RESOLV’s high-profile research to politicians and guests, including Science Minister Ina Brandes.

The presentation highlighted RESOLV's cutting-edge research in sustainable chemistry. This includes developing innovative synthesis strategies using sustainable resources and exploring renewable carbon sources as alternatives to fossil fuels. The discussion also covered the rapid transfer of research results to the industry, emphasizing how top-level research can be applied. Additionally, it explored how digitization, automation, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning processes are creating jobs in Chemistry 4.0. Through these efforts, RESOLV's excellent research supports the structural transformation of the Ruhr area.

Science Minister Ina Brandes says: "The diversity and excellence of the research landscape in North Rhine-Westphalia is unique: 14 out of the 57 excellence clusters nationwide are based in North Rhine-Westphalia. The brightest minds are working here to tackle the great challenges of the future, such as combating widespread diseases, developing intelligent mobility solutions, and using energy in a resource-efficient way. The state government supports universities to the best of its ability in their applications for excellence clusters. With research and teaching at Champions League level, we strengthen North Rhine-Westphalia as a science hub."
