On 1st of October, 2015 the fourth ECR General Assembly took place during the GSS Autumn Workshop at Fraunhofer UMSICHT.

From 26th - 28th August 2015 the ECRs offer a Workshop "Academic Poster Presentation" in english with the trainer Mark Edwards. 12 PhD students learn how to catch the attention of the audience, how to speak, stand and gesture and how to speak simply yet with clarity and impact.

On 3th and 4th of December 2014 the ECRs visited "Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron - A Research Centre of the Helmholtz Association" in Hamburg. 26 participants learned about the resources of the DESY and its measurements by guided tours at several beamlines of the electron synchrotron. On 10th of October, 2014 the third ECR General Assembly took place in the RUB Conference Center. During the assembly the new ECR Board members were elected and inspiring new ideas for ECR activities, public outreach and knowledge transfer were discussed.

From 22th - 26th September 2014 the ECRs organized two Science Writing Workshops with the trainer Dr. Ian Patten, writing consultant with more than 10 years experience. The three-days workshop "Making Sense of Writing" for PhD students focused on the own writing process. The two-days workshop "Effective Management of Writing and Publication" for group leaders focused on the management of the writing process within a research group.

On 16th and 18th of July, 2014 the RESOLV ECRs organized two Workshops regarding the management of conflicts with the trainer Petra Weigend. In total 16 PhD students and young group leaders took part in the two workshops and learned about mechanisms happening when a conflict arises and how to actively tackle it.
