The topic forum of the Ruhr Conference 'From idea to product - how to transfer research into start-ups' kicked-off on 6 March 2019 in Bochum. Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Economy Minister of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), opened the forum, which aims at attaining more knowledge-intensive start-ups from the natural and engineering sciences in the Ruhr region.
Around 50 participants from science, economy and politics attended the event. RESOLV speaker, Prof. Dr. Martina Havenith, co-moderated the meeting.
"The Ruhr region offers excellent cutting-edge research that can be transferred into high-tech business models. However, the professional and technical infrastructure requirements for such ecosystems - for example in the natural sciences - are more specific and greater than for most digital business models," said Havenith.
RESOLV is currently active in promoting new start-up ideas in chemistry and presented the concept for 'Start4Chem' at the Ruhr Conference. The Bochum-based 'Start4Chem' start-up centre will be docked to RESOLV and is part of the Start-up Centre NRW, which is funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Prof. Dr. Kristina Tschulik is in charge of the 'Start4Chem' project in addition to her work as head of the Electrochemistry and Nanoscale Materials working group at RUB.

RESOLV auf der Ruhrkonferenz präsentiert Projektideen für neue start-ups
RESOLV-Sprecherin M.Havenith co-moderierte die erste Veranstaltung des Themenforums 'Von der Idee zum Produkt – Wie gelingt der Transfer von der Forschung in Start-ups?'.
Das Themenforum der Ruhr-Konferenz für wissens- und technologieintensive Gründungen aus den Natur- und Ingenieurwissenschaften ist gestartet. Wirtschafts- und Digitalminister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart hat das Forum 'Von der Idee zum Produkt – Wie gelingt der Transfer von der Forschung in Start-ups?' am 6. März 2019 in Bochum eröffnet.
Co-moderiert wurde der Auftakt mit rund 50 Teilnehmern aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Politik von Prof. Dr. Martina Havenith, Sprecherin des Exzellenzclusters RESOLV.
„Das Ruhrgebiet ist Standort für exzellente Spitzenforschung, die in Hightech-Geschäftsmodelle übertragen werden kann. Allerdings sind die fachlichen und technischen Infrastrukturanforderungen an ein Ökosystem für Gründerinnen und Gründer – etwa in den Naturwissenschaften – spezieller und wesentlich größer als für die meisten digitalen Geschäftsmodelle“, so Havenith.
RESOLV engagiert sich derzeit in der Konzeption neuer Gründungsideen in der Chemie und präsentierte das Konzept für 'Start4Chem' auf der Ruhrkonferenz. Das Bochumer Start-up-Center 'Start4Chem' wird an RESOLV angedockt und ist Teil des Start-up-Centers NRW, für dessen Aufbau die RUB vom Land gefördert wird. Prof. Dr. Kristina Tschulik kümmert sich neben ihrer Arbeit als Leiterin der Arbeitsgruppe Elektrochemie und Nanoskalige Materialien um den Aufbau von 'Start4Chem'.
